Kitchen Tip Tuesday! - Pre-made Mixes

Ah, the pre-food-allergy-days of being able to buy a boxed mix for any variety of baked good, and whip it up with minimal measuring at a moment's notice.  Those days can be yours again!  Grab your recipes, some zip top bags and a sharpie marker!

You can see how beat up my cookbook is - that's because all the
recipes in it REALLY ARE the recipes we make at home! I actually use my own cookbook!

It's time to make your own allergy safe mixes!

Simply measure out the dry ingredients, whisk until the dry mixture is a uniform color.  Then dump it into a zip top bag and label the outside of the bag with the following info:

  • Title of recipe
  • Wet ingredients needed
  • Baking temp and time

When it's time to make brownies, pancakes, zucchini bread...just grab the zip top bag and have at it!  No need to pull out the cookbook, the bags of flour and sugar...it will be the same convenience of baking from a boxed mix with the benefit of safety for your food allergic family!

You can find a variety of recipes that work with this method of preparation in my cookbook, "Love Letters From My Kitchen". Every recipe in the book is dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free, and tree-nut free!  Available directly from my blog, and also from Amazon, and even as an ebook! Get yours today (and one as a gift for someone else!) and set yourself up for baking success!

As always, from The Allergy Safe Kitchen, I wish you "Good Cooking, and Safe Eating"!
