Ian's Sriracha Fire Sticks and Fish Sticks - Product Review

I became aware of Ian's Natural Foods when I attended The Food Allergy Bloggers Conference. What impressed me most about this brand was the variety of MEAL offerings.  There are a lot of food allergy focused companies specializing in snacks, desserts, safe baking items, etc.  But, few focus on providing a kid friendly, busy-mom-friendly, simple meal. Our family received a box of products from Ian's for review.

This review will focus on Ian's Fish Sticks and Sriracha Fire Sticks

Pros: Let's start with the Sriracha Fire Sticks! These "Chicken Patty Fritters" are wheat free, gluten free, soy free, milk/casein free, peanut/tree nut free, and egg free!  The instructions were clear and easy to follow, (we cooked them in the oven). The Sriracha Fire Sticks were crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and spicy! Five of my seven children liked them.  (The two year old twins generally aren't fans of anything spicy.)  My 10 year old son, who is allergic to eggs and peanuts, declared them the BEST Ian's product. That is his official proclamation. We ate them for dinner, along with a salad, but I also think the Fire sticks would make a great mid-afternoon snack! Big flavor, protein, and satisfying.

Ian's Fish Sticks are also wheat free, gluten free, soy free, milk/casein free, peanut/tree nut free, and egg free! They were easy to prepare in the oven and had a delicate (not overpowering) breading. The fish was tasty, and all seven children gave the fish sticks a thumbs up.

Cons:  The package of Ian's Sriracha Fire Sticks has about 2.5 servings, of approximately 4 sticks each.  The Fish Sticks come with about 2.5 servings in a box, at 6 sticks a serving. An appropriate serving size for a child, and okay if you are simply feeding one food allergic child. In our home, I make one meal for everyone, so even if we were a family of four, one box of Fire Sticks or Fish Sticks would not a meal make.  A family sized box would be a great option.  Not only would it be great for larger families, but also for families with food allergic teenagers and their LARGE appetites (and large groups of friends coming over!) I could see a mom setting out a big plateful of Sriracha Fire Sticks for a group of teenage boys playing video games!

Bottom Line:  Great products!  Convenient, tasty, and safe for my family. The kids approved, and my son has asked for me to buy more Sriracha Fire Sticks, immediately! I hope by the time he is a teenager, there is a family sized package available!
